Norfolk is blessed with glorious beaches. Whether you are visiting for a piece of nostalgia, dipping your toe in the water or frolicking in the sand dunes, there really is something for everyone.

Norfolk is blessed with glorious beaches. Whether you are visiting for a piece of nostalgia, dipping your toe in the water or frolicking in the sand dunes, there really is something for everyone.

Brancaster – If it is sand you are looking for then Brancaster beach has literally miles. A year round attraction for romantic winter walks or summer sandcastles, with facilities and plenty of parking. It is popular for windsurfers, kite surfers and also dog walkers. At low tide you can see a shipwreck of SS Vina becomes visable.

Holkham – This beautiful beach is famous for its appearance in the film Shakespear in Love. It is part of one of the largest National Nature Reserves in the country. In low tide you can enjoy miles and miles of sand. it is also possible to walk Wells and catch the Coasthopper back again.

Hunstanton – This is the only coastal beach to face west and therefore you can enjoying some amazing sunsets from this beach. You can also see the renown red and white striped cliffs. Old Hunstanston beach is great for kite-flying.

Sheringham – A stony beach with sand and rock pools at low tide. Colourful beach huts, facilities and parking on the clifftop. A pretty seaside town, with amusement arcades and a steam train.

Wells – the winner of the 2016 British Beach of the year, which probably speaks for itself.

West Runton – This is a great beach for families, there are plenty of rock pools where you can look for fossils, crabs and sometimes starfish and sea anemone. This beach is also known for the discovery of the Steppe Mammoth in 1990. This is the oldest fossil elephant to be found in the UK.
